Without wanting to come across as some kind of travel blog, I'd just like to post a few quick photos from my recent inter rail trip around Europe. It was really great and refreshing to spend time in cities rich in culture and with a creative heartbeat.
Quite a shock to see how much Berlin (& its art scene) had changed since I was last there. Still had the Warhol banana graffiti signifying the location of an art gallery, which was useful as some were a little hard to spot. It was also excellent to visit the Computerspielemuseum which exhibited a few nice examples of Game Art.

DO NOT TOUCH
CLAS OHLSON CANVAS
I like that someone painted this and they displayed it in the art materials section of my local Clas Ohlson store. It was oil on canvas- very brave!
So tempted to touch. I think its some kind of crazy Macbeth thing going on. Nice one Clas.

REVERSE PAINTINGS
LANDSCAPES
Just and idea I had about playing around with old landscape paintings. Reversing the paintings has completely changed the composition. I like the idea that Sisley could have sat outside with his easel and painted the bridge back to front. We have seen these paintings so many times that it is taken for granted as an accurate depiction. This kind of mind messing is right up my street-the kind of thing I have been doing with my Half-Life paintings.
I guess it ties in kinda with what Glenn Brown was doing by meticulously recreating those Auerbach paintings, but instead making them as flat as possible. Or somewhat similar to Richard Prince when he photographed photographs. I love self referential art. Art about art is the best.
This work probably wont go further than this blog. There is no point in me reproducing these paintings back to front. But as images they are certainly very striking. Perhaps I'll continue on the series with some attempts at other paintings. Self-Portraits seems to be a given. Watch this space.

Prizes for anyone who can name the artists!

HAND MADE SIGNS v

Cant take credit for this one. Stole it from my brother. Its a great representation of rural life in Northern Ireland.
On a separate note, I was looking to do a link to this in Google Street View, but genuinely could not find it. Thats an indication as to how remote this is. What a fantastic find. If anyone can find the location of Dregish Hall put a street view link to it in the comments.
